Description

This is a low surface brightness planetary nebula in the constellation Hercules. I remember seeing a picture of this in an astronomy book when I was a kid. At that time I had no idea that objects like this existed. I thought it was  very cool, and I'm happy to have imaged it finally.

This is an LRGB image with some OIII mixed in with both the Green and Blue. I collected the data this year over 15 nights from June 6th to July 2nd. Since there were no bright stars in the frame, I captured the RGB subframes at 20 minutes each, instead of my usual 10 minutes.

L = 31 x 600s
R = 31 x 1200s
G = 32 x 1200s
B = 31 x 1200s
OIII = 16 x 1800s

I processed the image primarily with pixinsight and some final tweaks with Photoshop
